After a failed NaNoWriMo just 4 months prior, I entered 2022 with the goal to write a complete story. I needed motivation, encouragement; I wanted to be inspired. So when Wattpad announced their 2022 edition of the Open Novella Contest, I decided it was time to take action.

2022 was the first year I entered the ONC. I hadn't entered a writing contest like this before and was intrigued, having seen the contest in previous years.

I documented my journey through the contest on TikTok and on my original blog, and every time I reached a milestone, I was so proud of myself to achieving it.
